VARIMAX 20MG TABLET contains Vardenafil which belongs to the group of medicines called Phosphodiesterase type 5 inhibitors. VARIMAX 20MG TABLET helps in relaxing the blood vessels and allows more blood flow to the penis.

VARIMAX 20MG TABLET is not recommended for use in patients allergic to Vardenafil. It is also not recommended for use in patients who recently have/had stroke, low blood pressure, degenerative eye disease (such as retinitis pigmentosa), severe heart disease (such as heart attack), and/or severe liver disease. This medicine is also not recommended for use in patients undergoing kidney dialysis. Before taking VARIMAX 20MG TABLET, inform your doctor if you have a disease that affects shape of the penis (such as angulation, Peyronie’s disease, cavernosal fibrosis), and/or suffer from priapism, stomach ulcers (gastric/peptic ulcers)/bleeding disorders (such as haemophilia).

VARIMAX 20MG TABLET is not recommended for use in pregnant and breastfeeding women since the medicine is intended to be used only in men. VARIMAX 20MG TABLET is also not recommended for use in children and adolescents (aged below 18 years) since the medicine is intended to be used only in adult men. It is advised to be used with caution in elderly patients (aged 65 years/above) after consulting the doctor. The most common side-effects of taking VARIMAX 20MG TABLET are headache, dizziness, flushing, blocked/runny nose, and/or indigestion. Consult your doctor if any of these symptoms worsens.

Improves blood flow and oxygen supply to the penis

HOW VARIMAX 20MG TABLET WORKS

VARIMAX 20MG TABLET works by blocking the effects of certain enzymes (PDE5) which limits blood flow to the penis. Therefore, it relaxes the blood vessels supplying the penis and improves blood flow and oxygen supply.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

Take VARIMAX 20MG TABLET as advised by your doctor. Swallow the medicine with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the medicine. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration for you depending upon your age, disease condition and body weight.

HOW TO MANAGE SIDE EFFECTS

Try to rest and get enough sleep. Try to avoid driving or operating any tools or machines while you feel dizzy. Limit consumption of alcohol, as it can aggravate dizziness. Consult and inform your doctor if the symptom worsens.

Try to drink plenty of cold water and sip on cold unsweetened drinks and use lip balm if your lips are dry. Brush your teeth twice a day and use mouthwash. Consult and inform your doctor if the symptom gets worse.

If VARIMAX 20MG TABLET causes headache, then take rest and drink plenty of fluids. Try to avoid drinking alcohol. Ask your doctor to recommend a painkiller. Headaches should usually go away after the first week of taking VARIMAX 20MG TABLET. If it lasts more than a week or becomes severe, then consult and inform your doctor.

Try to have smaller and more frequent meals and drink slowly. Reduce consumption of coffee, cola, tea, or alcohol and lose weight if you are obese. Try to avoid smoking and don’t have rich, fatty or spicy foods. Consult your doctor and inform if the symptom does not improve.

Before taking VARIMAX 20MG TABLET, inform your doctor if you:

Have a disease affecting shape of the penis (such as angulation, Peyronie’s disease, cavernosal fibrosis)
Suffer from priapism due to sickle cell disease, multiple myeloma, leukaemia (blood disorder)
Have stomach ulcers (gastric/peptic ulcers)
Have bleeding disorders such as haemophilia

INTERACTIONS

A. Drug-Drug Interactions:

Before taking VARIMAX 20MG TABLET, inform your doctor if you are taking any of the following medicine:

Medicines used for angina (Ex. nitrates, amyl nitrite)
Medicines used to manage arrythmias (Ex. quinidine, procainamide, amiodarone, sotalol)
Medicines used to manage HIV (Ex. ritonavir, indinavir)
Anti-fungal medicines (Ex. ketoconazole, itraconazole)
Macrolide antibiotics (used to manage bacterial infections) Ex. erythromycin, clarithromycin
Medicine used to manage high blood pressure and enlargement of the prostate (Ex. doxazosin, prazosin)
Medicines used for pulmonary hypertension (Ex. riociguat)

B. Drug-Food Interactions:

Avoid consumption of grapefruit juice while taking VARIMAX 20MG TABLET as it can interfere with the normal effect of the medicine. Avoid heavy/high fat meal while in treatment with VARIMAX 20MG TABLET since it may delay the effect of the medicine.

Overdosage:

If you or anyone else accidentally takes too much of VARIMAX 20MG TABLET, consult your doctor immediately or visit the nearby hospital. Symptom of overdosage is severe back pain.
